artist statement

 

I am fascinated by nostalgia, memory, and documentation - particularly that of the seemingly mundane moments that often pass by unnoticed. It is in these that life’s greatest meaning and beauty can be found, and my work seeks to memorialize them as an act of gratitude and recognition.

 

The subjects often displayed in my work are people, places, and nature. I find great beauty in even a short human interaction, in the memories that are tied to a certain room, in the colors and intricacies of the natural world. I want my work to invite people to slow down, to pause and reflect, to bring their own experiences face to face with mine and for new meaning and importance to blossom out of that interaction.
